You didn't say what type of chameleon but I would say that the screen type cage is more appropriate for most mid to large size chameleons.
Be sure to do your research - chameleons have very demanding husbandry requirements.
I would say the glass. It is easier to clean and your chameleon can't rip the screen with his claws. The temperature is easier to control, and if you feed him live crickets they won't be able to chew through the screen. Good Luck!
just a fish tank with a light and screen top, make sure you put log or bark so it can climb around make it all natural. put in an area so it can hide.
I would use a 20 gallon long glass tank. As it is easier to clean and safer.
If you are getting a chameleon, use the screen cage. chameleons are very arboreal, and need to climb a lot. The screen allows it to climb on the sides, not just what you put into it. Making one stay on the ground keeps it pretty nervous, which makes them die quickly. If you have to get a glass tank, make sure there are lots of sticks and limbs for it to climb on.
At first an aquarium would be fine until it gets bigger then change to a bigger one with a screen .click on the link below for lots of information. exo terra glass at first would be ok.
YOU NEED TO USE A SCREEN CAGE! Trust me. You can't use a glass tank, they WILL die! They need constant air flow.
