how much does a bearded dragon cost??
Answers:
Cost varies greatly depending on colour, size, breed, etc.
Actually, the dragon is one of the lower expenses of owning a BD, the equipment is very costly.
Beardies are cheaper the younger they are. However, younger ones die more often than older, better established ones. You should make your purchase accordingly.
As a baby we paid around 90$. They are more expensive if they are full grown. Up to $400. They need to have a heat bulb, and flurorescent lighting. Only calcium sand!! Which can run about $10 per bag. So to get started we spent about $150
Bearded dragons cost $20-$40 ea and adults around $100. Reading other answers, it appears different price according to where you live. My quote is for Arizona prices. Getting their home set up can be expensive but they are fairly low maintenance pets after that. They make terrific pets too! I have 3 adults, raised from babies.
Check out www. reptileauctions.com. They also have classified ads. Just a hint, rabbt pellets make great bedding. It absorbs lizard poo/pee for easy clean up. It doesn't cost bunches of bucks either. I would advice not using reptile sand. They eat running crickets and often swallow some of the bedding material. Sand, even reptile sand, can impact a beardie leading to death especially young lizards. Good luck!
Ours were quite expensive as babies (almost $90 each) but it depends on how many are available I guess. Now they are about $40 each.
It's not the actual lizards that will cost you, it's the accessories. You need a pretty big tank and all the correct lighting and some decoration/climbable stuff. And substrate. We use fake sand that is actually crushed walnut shells. It's digestable in case they eat it. After your initial set up all you need is food and calcium powder. If you happen to get a male and female you might want an incubator as well because you will definitely get eggs,
Great pets though. They don't get oversized like an iguana and they are very interesting to watch, especially when they are young.

Depends on the morph of that particular dragons. Normal babies can be bought for like $20 at a reptile show. Probably more at a pet store. Types of bred dragons like, german giants, hypo pastels, etc are usually expensive, ranging from $100-thousands.
Generally they start at about 75 bucks as a baby. And the bigger they are, the more expensive they get.
